Spring riding

So we went riding on Antelope Island on Monday afternoon. It was a really nice day, the sun was out and shining down on us as we rode and there was a slight breeze. I was riding Jordan and Robert was riding Sassy. Robert's parents, Tieler and Myla (a foreign exchange student living with Jim and Bettie for the school year) and a couple boys from our ward. It was pretty good. But about a half hour into it Sassy lived up to her name and kicked one of the other horses. Then aout ten or fifteen min after that my horse got kicked by another horse and then like fifteen mins after that Jordan decided that she didn't want me to ride her anymore and started bucking. Ya bucking! Like bronc riders in the rodeos and stuff like that! Exciting? yes! Scary? HECK YES!!! I bailed after the third kick. I could tell that she was going to start running and bucking so that's why I bailed. But luckily I said a little prayer while in mid air with one of my feet still stuck in the stirrup, (Ya not good...) Anyway I managed to twist my foot out of the stirrup and fell on the ground clear of any rocks or sharp objects. So I didn't get hurt. That's really good. And I did get back on even though I was kinda scared to. but like every good cowgirl. I got back on and rode the rest of the ride. So all in all I guess you could say that it was a pretty god day because no one got hurt.

Other than that not much has been happening. I've been working more and more with the spring weather trying to come every now and then. But we've been getting busier and busier so that's really good. Posse starts drill practice tomorrow for the first time this year. We'll have to see if the snow and rain will go away long enough for us to have it... we'll see. And Robert has been working as much as he can so that's about it for now!

Bonnie - I'm glad you're alive to still tell the tale of you surviving a bucking bronco. :) That's crazy! Way to be a true-blue through-and-through cowgirl. I admire you!
