Then White trim all the way around. I don't have anything up on the walls yet. I haven't quite decided on what I want to put on the walls. It kinda keeps changing a little here and there. And it also doesn't help that I can't find exactly what I'm looking for either... Hopefully soon though!

This is the crib set I got for the little man's room. Super cute huh?! I'm not going to go into what happened, but I'm really upset about it. I'm pretty sure I know exactly what happened but this person keeps telling lies to not get into trouble and things just aren't adding up. One day it's one thing that happened and then the next its something totally different. And then it's all different when you talk to the other people that they have talked to about it. It's just getting really frustrating and today I've just had ENOUGH! It doesn't help that I am pregnant and my emotions are all over the place but I am thinking very clearly about this and what I'm pretty sure what happened.

Unfortunately though, when I tried to explain to the other people what I was thinking and feeling about the situation, it all came up jumbled and now those other people are mad at me and I am just feeling kinda like I have been bullied into just taking what happened and get over it. Because even if I tried to explain what I was trying to say it wouldn't make things any better. They would just take it wrong and not ask questions about things to try to clarify and make sure what they heard me say is what I was trying to say. UGH! I hate it when there are problems with family members. It complicates things So much!

I'm not really sure if this makes any sense or if you can even follow what I'm saying. But I feel a little bit better now and that what writing helps you do right? Well, it helped me so I guess it worked.

Random

I was just sitting here thinking about some of the things I wanted to remember about this pregnancy and here are a few things that came to mind.

A couple days ago I was watching tv in bed while Robert was sleeping and I had the remote on my belly and I looked down and the remote did the WAVE!!! Creepy?!? Yes. Cool?!? Also, yes.

A friend of mine (Miss Carly B) is due 2 days before me and she is having a little girl. I was reading on her blog (at least I think that it was her blog... or Facebook maybe? Anyway...) That she hadn't been measuring herself as much with this pregnancy as she did with her last. So one day she measured herself in toilet paper squares. And that got me thinkin.... I wonder how many it would take to go around me! Well... To settle your minds last time I measured it was 11 squares. :)

We got all the walls painted in the baby room (I need to post pics but it's not all done yet). The baby crib and mattress came this week! :) but we don't have anywhere to put it yet so it's just sitting here in the box...waiting to be opened and put together.

I'm getting bigger all the time. Robert even said to me last week "Wow, hun. You look SUPER prego today!" Made me laugh. But there have been a ton of people that have said that I am really small. And then the last few days there have been quite a few people that have said that I just popped the last little while. Well, what they don't realize is that I've had a coat on most of the times that I have seen them. But it's kinda pointless to wear a jacket these days because I can't close it anyway, my belly is gettin in the way! :)

Well I think that's everything random for right now.

Wow!

So I just looked at my last post and man, it's been a while! Not too much has been going on. Just my belly growing every day. It's kinda fun! I can't see my toes now if I stand straight and look down. :) We've been decorating the baby's room, well more like just painting currently. But it looks a lot better than it did when we started. I'll post pictures when we get all done.

I've also been working on a blanket for the little guy too. It's pretty cute. But also not quite finished yet, soon though!

And I thought I'd be on top of things and take a bunch of pictures so that I could see how big I get and all that stuff but, alas, no pictures as of yet! But in the blink of an eye I'm already 7 months! It's been going by SO fast! I can't even believe it!

Well, I will be posting again soon with pictures of the belly, room, blanket and maybe a baby shower!

It's a....

BOY!!

We are really excited to have another little cowboy come join us here in our home. We really didn't have any clue what to expect when we went into our ultrasound but we were really excited. It was amazing to see the little guy and see everything that they look at. He was a happy to see us kinda since he gave us a mostly full handed wave. I say that because he didn't open his hand all the way, just a four fingered wave. It was pretty cute. We got to see his heart beating, lungs breathing, and his little brain working. Really cool! He is growing right on schedule and everything looks healthy and strong so far!

This little guy has been a LOT more active within the last 2 weeks. He has been kicking and punching me a lot lately and he is getting stronger too. It's really kinda cool, but at the same time, a little creepy in a way. He is usually most active between 9 and 10 in the morning and sometimes in the evenings, depending on what I am doing really. (Right now he is kicking me a lot, :) ) I am 22 weeks and a day today and I feel like I am getting bigger. And depending on what I wear you can really tell I am prego. Kinda fun.

We have been thinking of names and there are a few that we like but we haven't decided on anything for sure yet.

Christmas is coming up pretty quickly and we are mostly ready. We aren't doing anything big for each other, but that is ok since it isn't about what you get, its the thought that counts. And the biggest part of why we celebrate Christmas isn't about the presents anyway.

Well, that's all I have for now!

Getting Excited!

So next week we get the opportunity to see our baby up close and personal and make sure everything is going well, and all that other fun stuff they do at targeted ultrasounds. We will also get to find out if we will be having a little cowboy or rodeo queen added to our family! We (ok so really I can only speak for myself, but I am totally stoaked) are really excited about this baby. Next week I'll try to post a picture of my baby bump... I guess if you can call it that. I think that if anything, the baby has pushed any fat hiding around my middle and put it all together so that it might look like a baby bump, when actually its probably only fake.... But what do I know. This is my first so I have nothing to compare it to. And since everyone is different it's really hard to tell. But I have a couple friends that are due within a week or two of me and are both on their second child and they are both showing, so I guess it's possible that it's really the baby and not just my imagination.
So here are a few things about my pregnancy so far:

1. I found out and still rode in the State Fair when I was 7 weeks and felt like puking before every performance.

2. I was super nauseous, but never threw-up. That was a bonus I thought.

3. I have MAJOR heartburn like all the time! Ive been taking Prilosec and that has helped a TON. But you can only take that for 14 days then you aren't supposed to take it again for 4 months. That doesn't help me much. So I just bought a HUGE bottle of Tums to help me make it through. I heard that heartburn usually goes away in your 2nd trimester but I'm already halfway through that and it is still terrible!

4. I get so tired all the time. That is unusual for me. I can usually muster up the strength to make it through the rest of the day, but two weeks ago when I got home from the greenhouse to get changed to go to work at ShopKo, I almost broke down in tears because I was so tired! I literally had tears in my eyes as I walked into the bathroom. It was sad!

5. I am beginning to have a hard time bending over. To pick things up off the ground, to tie my shoes, anything really including the bending over process. It kinda sucks.

6. I'm pretty sure that I've felt the baby move. It's pretty cool. It usually only in the morning when I can feel it. I really felt it move a couple hours after I ate a caramel and chocolate covered pretzel. So my friend Krista and I decided that I am having a girl because the baby went crazy kicking and only girls get that excited from chocolate and caramel. I told Robert that and he said that girls aren't the only ones that get excited over chocolate and caramel. I told him that I've never seen a guy get excited for anything like that. The only things that guys get excited about are: cars, football, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, new electronics, ya know, guy stuff.

7. I can't breathe at night! Well, not just at night, pretty much anytime. It's terrible. I had heard that you get more of a stuffy nose when you are pregnant. But now I think that I have a cold on top of that because I REALLY can't sleep at night. And I'm not supposed to take any medicine for it cause it could only make things worse and also can not be good for the baby. So I borrowed my moms humidifier to use at night. It has been helping but not as much as I would like it to.

Well, that's all that I can think of at the moment. I'm sure that there is more, but I'm tired and I can't think of much else. So I will update again next week after we find out!

The Word is Out!

Yup, It's true. The word is out now so I might as well blog about it right?

I'm PREGNANT!!

I am almost 16 weeks today. I am due April 16. Yay, a spring baby, but for anyone who knows me and what I do - That's not the greatest time of year to be having a baby in my line of work. But it's ok. The Lord works in mysterious ways and for some reason we are supposed to have this baby now. We are really excited though!

We found out on our 4th anniversary. It was pretty cool. Then we told the family on Robert's birthday. a whole month later! Yes you should be impressed because I usually can't keep a secret for that long. And the great thing is that nobody knew or had any idea. Well a couple claim they knew because of how adamant I was about Robert opening his present that we got to announce it with. But everyone was really excited when they heard.

So far I've had a fairly good pregnancy. I can't really complain much about it. I have been a little nauseous and have had some crazy heartburn. But other than that it hasn't been to bad. I have started to wear maternity pants though. Kinda sad but good at the same time because that means I am growing. I have gotten one of those belly bands that you put over your pants so you can still wear them even after you have grown out of them. So that's been nice too.

Anyway, We just set up our appointment for our big ultrasound to check on the baby and see if everything is growing the way it should and also to check and see if it is a boy or girl! We are pretty excited for that. That will be on Nov. 23 so just a couple days before Thanksgiving.

Anyone have any guesses on what we are having? I have asked most of my family and most of them haven't said a boy or girl... just baby. But my niece Emily (She's 4) said that she thinks its a girl. And my nephew Tanner (he's 9) thinks that it will be a boy. I also have a friend in the posse that siad that he is part gypsie (true story, I'll have to tell you about it sometime) and that he can tell what it is by just touching my belly with about 85-90% accuracy. So I'm kinda interested to see if he's right or not.

Anyway, leave your comment if you have a guess or anything else fun to say!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Wow! Summer is over already! It's crazy it feels like it was only yesterday that we started in on our fun filled summer. We've had a lot of things going on this summer so here's what we've been up to:

Posse: Lots of things going on with that. We have already done all but one of our rodeos. We went to Delta, Morgan, a few 4th of July Parades, Pioneer Days Parades and the rodeos there. Almost all of them went off without any problems until we got to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. The third night there we had a pretty good accident between my father-in-law and one of the other riders. The other rider and he collided during one of the cross-overs and, let's just say there were horses and people rolling over top of each other... Well, mostly just over my father-in-law. He has a few fractured ribs and lots of bruising. But he is mostly back to normal although he didn't ride the next two nights. But things are starting to get back to normal. Our next big thing is this next week. We are going to Fort Bridger to to a fundraiser and help park people at the Mountain Man Rendezvous. It's really pretty fun to watch all the people. Then after we get back from that we go down to the State Fair rodeo and ride for a few nights there. Then after that we are almost done with our riding events for the year. We get to help with the buffalo round-up at Antelope Island. That is usually lots of fun to watch or help with.

Camping and Horseback riding: We have done lots more of that this year than we have the last few years. It's been pretty fun. We have a couple of friends in the Posse that have property up in the Unitas just North of Mirror Lake so we've gone up there and camped and have gone riding while we were there. It was really fun! It's beautiful up there, but lots of rocks... everywhere! We were trying to decide if there were more rocks/boulders or sand. We couldn't decide. But it was still fun nonetheless.

Celebrating: We just celebrated 4 fun filled years of marital bliss. We went to dinner and then got a couple of movies and watched them that day then over the weekend we went riding up in to Naturalist Basin in the Unitas. It was beautiful and a great way to spend our anniversary weekend together.

Boating: Not as much boating as we have usually done in the years past because Robert twisted his ankle pretty badly when he was working on a job. So we haven't gone as much as I'm sure he would have liked but he is better now and so we are going more often as long as the weather permits.

Other than that not a lot has been happening for us. I haven't been to Zumba for a long time because of our crazy schedule for the summer but that's ok. I am excited to be able to get done with this last bit craziness so we can settle down and get a few things done around the house. But when we get back there will be lots of canning for salsa and peaches that I am really excited for.

Well, that's all for now!

Things I've had on my mind

So there have been a few things on my mind recently, one of which is that I haven't been blogging much. In case you were wondering why, let me tell you. Spring is exceptionally busy for me at the greenhouse and well, let's just face it - Robert doesn't blog. He leaves that up to me. So back to me... now that it is summer I have a little bit more time to do fun things to pass the time.

Now here's my list of things that have been on my mind:

1. I know I'm going to get a lot of crap about this but with the recent events I just feel like I need to defend myself.

I don't understand all the hype with Twilight. No, I've never read the books and no, I've never watched the movies (well, actually I did watch a very short part of it and I didn't find it at all interesting). And something really hard for some of you to believe is that I don't want to, nor will I. Thanks for asking though!

Vampires and Wolves (I know that's not right, but you know what I'm talking about) don't appeal to me. I don't like fantasies like that. I just don't get it. And all this stuff with taking sides on teams and stuff. Umm, Hello!! Jacob is WAY hotter in the pictures! DUH! Buff tan guy with no shirt on versus a VERY pale, skinny guy! I'm totally all for the buff, tan guy! Anyway...I don't feel like I will be any less of a person or not going to see the movies or reading the books. I think I will manage just fine. But again, Thanks for asking!

2. I HATE drama. Drama hates me. And lately there has been a TON of drama! Drama with friends and with family and it drives me nuts! If there is a problem then the best answer is to talk to the person about it. Not just stew on it until one thing rolls into another and then snowballs into something massive! Let's not act like kids in Jr High. Let's act like adults that know how to use their big kid words and figure out a compromise. Life would be SO much better if we all knew how to communicate better and tell everything that you are thinking and not just parts to the things that you are thinking. A conversation shouldn't be a game where you have to guess what things the other person is thinking but not telling you.

And finally 3- I Love riding horses. It is probably one of the best things out there that really gets you back to nature and where we come from. I love riding in Posse. It has helped me so much to become a better more confidant rider. And I think that it helps to have a horse that is also confidant in what they are supposed to be doing as well. In the Morgan Rodeo, at the very end of our performance, we ride out shooting our black powder guns. Usually I stop right at the gate and just go out, but the guy I ride with wanted to go around again so we started going but his horse stopped and wouldn't go past the gate so I went around by myself and had the greatest time! Duchess (the horse I ride) was just cruisin around the corners and leaned really hard into the corner. It was beautiful! It just felt like I was gliding on the air! Oh man! I had the biggest smile plastered on my face the rest of the night. It was great! And Duchess and I butted heads a little bit right before our first rodeo and again after and we both came to an understanding of how things were going to go from then on because at Morgan she didn't fight me at all when I needed to hold her back on the cross-overs. So that is good. Hopefully it will stay that way for Ogden!

Well, There ya have it! Hopefully I will be able to blog again soon!! Happy 4Th of July!!

My Weight Loss Prgram

Ok, so I decided around thanksgiving that I didn't like the way that I was beginning to look. I had gained about 20 lbs just after we got married and at least 10 more in the last year or so. I wasn't loving it at all... So when a friend asked if I wanted to do a biggest loser type challenge I decided to get in on it. We did it for 3 months and I didn't loose anything... in fact I gained a couple pounds (Oops!) anyway, I wanted to do something more. So I was looking on facebook at a few of my friends posts and saw that my friend Cammie was teaching Zumba. And to make it better she was teaching at the gym where I had a membership. So I decided to go by myself and just check it out.

Well that was all that I needed!

I am HOOKED on Zumba!!! I absolutely love it! It is the most fun i have had while getting the best workout! It's kind of a dance class mixed with lots of exercise. Its a fusion of salsa and other international dances. And I've never been one to be able to dance but I can do this! It's really easy and fun.

After my first class I found out that Cammie was teaching it in her garage a few nights a week other than at the gym and started going to those as well. Then about a month later when I was going at least 3 times a week, I decided to actually weigh myself and all that fun jazz... I lost 2 INCHES from my WAIST!!! YAAAAAYYY!! but no weight loss :(
Then a week and a half later I weighed myself and I had lost almost 5 lbs!! Awesome! Love it! I feel so much better about myself.

However, my poor hubby is feeling a little neglected. See, I'm gone all day long at work then Monday and Tuesday nights to Zumba, Wednesday to Young womens and then sometimes Zumba after that, Thursday to Zumba, and Friday i have Mary Kay meetings. So I'm only home at nights on the weekends. :( I think he might miss me just a little bit...

Anyway, I just had to tell you about this fabulous new thing I found.

She teaches here in Ogden down 12th street on Monday at 8pm, Tuesday at Lady Fitness at 5:45pm, Wednesday at 8pm, and Thursday at 7pm. If you are interested in coming to any of her classes let me know and I'll get you more info.

I'll keep you posted on how much more I loose!

Updates!

Wow, lots of things have happened since last time I wrote!

On Halloween, Robert and I went to Antelope Island for their annual Buffalo Roundup. We started out very early and got there just before the sun came up, it was a beautiful start to the morning. So we get all saddled up and are getting ready to go we see some people starting to ride out. We decided to try and catch up with them so we were hurrying. Well, one thing i have to mention is that Jordan (our horse) is kind of a nervous horse. We decided that she has to have a routine and if we don't stick to it she gets weird on us and sometimes freaks out. Well, we didn't do the whole routine and as I was getting on she started getting nervous and decided to back up. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but we were close to the trailer and as she was backing up and I was just getting my leg over the saddlle, she backed up and hit the trailer, which made her jump forward and caused me to come off. I landed right on my hip/back. I don't really remember much of it other than being on the ground and being in LOTS of pain. I couldn't move to find a comfortable spot to sit, stand, or even lay down in. It was terrible.
There was a first responder there and he checked out all the pressure points and decided I was fine and left. But I wasn't. I could hardly walk without being in pain and we couldn't figue out why. After the first initial pain wore off and the adrenaline kicked in I decided that I needed to get back on and ride. But I was very wrong. I decided that I needed to justgo home and then possibly go to the doctor or the emergency room but that I would wait and let Robert do the ride. My sister-in-law Jody decided that she would not ride and take me home. We went on Antelope drive towards the freeway and with all the bumps decided that I needed to go to the ER. We got there and they gave me a Morphine shot and anti-inflammatory to help with my pain and took an xray of my pelvis. I had two more morphine shots before I left 4-5 hours later. They couldn't find anything wrong in the xray but the nurse was worried that there was something else wrong and decided to do an MRI. That still didn't find anything so they released me and gave me some more happy pills for the pain and I went home. I got a little better but still coulnd't walk and do the things that I used to.
So three weeks later I still felt like there was something wrong with my hips and went in to a specialist. He couldn't quite figure out what was wrong with me and thought that it was just deep tissue bruising but had them do another xray of my lower back just to make sure. Well, that didn't tell him much so he sent me to an awesome physical therapist.
He looked at me and had me do a few different things then popped my SI joint back into place and then I could walk normally again! It was AWESOME! Who knew!?!? Anyway, I've been going to him for about a month now and have made huge improvements and have very little pain now. But since I still have pain I have to keep going so I can keep strengthening my back and leg muscles so that it hopefully doesn't happen again.

Then during all that fun stuff was Thanksgiving. That was so much fun! My sister and her family came in from Seattle and stayed for about a 10 days. It was so nice to have her back here! I love her kids they are so cute! And her boys are getting so big. They are 6 and 3 and I had a fun time playing with hem as much as I could with my bak being hurt and everything. She also has a little girl that is 1 yr old now and is the cutest little thing!
The Monday or two before Thanksgiving we have Pie Night with my sisters in-laws and their family, and then we did dinner at my mom's house and pie later at Robert's parents house.
On Thanksgiving morning we had family pictures. My aunt Carol took them for us and they turned out very well!

Here's one of the whole family

Top: Charlie, Ashley, Tom, Dad, Mom, Robert, Me, Scott
Bottom: Sue, Brianna, William, Carter, Adam, Katie, Emily
(I LOVE Will's face in this!)

One of the Grandkids
One of Robert and I

Then I decided that for Christmas I would get tickets to go to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo. It was awesome!! We had a ton of fun! We went down with our friends and stayed for three days and went to all of the Cowboy Christmases there. We also went to two nights of the Rodeo. We had a lot of fun. It was my first time going to something like that so I was pretty excited.
While we were down there Robert and I got a few things for ourselves for Christmas. Robert got this awesome western looking suit coat. It's longer than a usual suit coat and looks super cool with a cowboy hat. I'll have to take some pictures of him in it. He looks really cool. Then I got a belt and purse that both have lots of rhinestones on them. They are way cute as well. So we both had a great time down there for christmas.

Hope everyone had an AWESOME Christmas and an even better New Year!!

Whew!

Man what a couple of month it has been. We are still so busy! It's crazy! So here's what's been going on again...

My mom, Ashley, Katie and I have been getting into making our own cards - you know- being crafty?! Anyway, totally not something that I am very good at, BUT I am getting pretty good at this I think! We've made lots of cards and they are constantly getting better all the time! If you want me to send you one, post your address in the comments and what kind of a card you'd like to get and I'll make it and send it to you! It's lots of fun and I would love to get any ideas if you have any!

What else? Well... We both have been working a lot. We have been taking down some old greenhouses and are getting ready to put up new ones! So exciting!!! I'll post some pictures when I can get a minute to upload them but they are coming along very well!

And it's that time again for the Posse Election Dinner to find out who will be captain in two years. It's kinda lookin like Robert is going to be captain in two years... Kinda fun but lots of work! We'll see if someone else puts in for it though! (keep your fingers crossed!) We'll find out for sure the first Monday of next month and I'll definetly let you know how it all goes.

Summer?! Where have you gone?

Wow! Summer is almost over! I can hardly believe it is almost over! However we have done SO much since i last wrote... So here's what's been going on:

1. We had a French foreign exchange student come and stay with us for a month. It was pretty fun, we learned a lot from him. His name was Thomas and he was 15. The perfect age for the local girls around here to fall madly in love with him. So ya it was a great learning experience for the both of us. But other than that we had a great time. We went boating a lot while he was here and he showed us his awesome tricks diving off the boat. He was also able to be here for the 4th of July and also for the 24th of July festivities. It was really fun for him to be able to see all the rodeos and parades and stuff. I'm pretty sure that he had fun while he was here and was also very glad to be going home. We're pretty sure that he's home but we haven't really heard anything from him since he left, but we're pretty sure that he is because he's been posting on Facebook... anyway. It was fun while he was here but we're happy to have it be just us again.

2. RODEO SEASON - ya it's that time again for us. It seems like all we are doing is working boating and rodeos or parades. It's really fun and we both love it! Robert and I both rode in the Ogden Rodeo and we both did really well. For now we are done with rodeos for about a month then we have the state fair, then we'll be done with rodeos for the year.

3. Then there's lots of camping going on. This weekend we have Robert's family reunion up in the Uinta's it should be lots of fun to see his family again. Then the next weekend we will be up in Fort Bridger for about 10 days helping with the registration for their reinactment thing. That should be pretty interesting too. I will take lots of pictures and post them when we get back.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bandrarmstrong.blogspot.com/2009/08/summer-where-have-you-gone.html' title='Summer?! It was lots of fun but very wet. Luckily we didn't ever have to ride in the rain. So here's some pics:

Here we are first entering the arena. I'm the second one in from the left. We are going to be getting a boy from France. It should be kinda interesting. Luckily that is when we are usually pretty busy boating and going to rodeos and stuff with family so I'm excited. but it will probably kinda weird to have another person in the house with us.... He comes on June 27th and will be here till July 25th.

And this weekend is the Delta rodeo. I'm taking my camera and am going to have someone take pictures for me while were riding. I will be riding a bay horse this year (that's a black and brown horse for those who don't know) It should be really exciting and fun! If you are going to be in any of the areas we ride in you should come take a look. Our first performance is next Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Delta rodeo. Then after that is the parade for the 4th of July and then all of the Pioneer Days events. I'm really excited! Robert is also riding and will be on our Grulla Roan, Jordan (I can't explain the color of this one. She changes all the time. I'll post a pic in the next day or so).

Not much else has been happening other than that. We both are working, however I have started not working so much lately. Our busy season at the greenhouse has been slowing down a lot.

Robert has been able to go out on the water twice already. He's been really excited about being able to go out this year. Especially since Willard Bay is open this year! That means boating much more than last year because it is a lot closer. If anyone wants to go just let us know and we'll work somethin out! We always need people to go with!!

Spring riding

So we went riding on Antelope Island on Monday afternoon. It was a really nice day, the sun was out and shining down on us as we rode and there was a slight breeze. I was riding Jordan and Robert was riding Sassy. Robert's parents, Tieler and Myla (a foreign exchange student living with Jim and Bettie for the school year) and a couple boys from our ward. It was pretty good. But about a half hour into it Sassy lived up to her name and kicked one of the other horses. Then aout ten or fifteen min after that my horse got kicked by another horse and then like fifteen mins after that Jordan decided that she didn't want me to ride her anymore and started bucking. Ya bucking! Like bronc riders in the rodeos and stuff like that! Exciting? yes! Scary? HECK YES!!! I bailed after the third kick. I could tell that she was going to start running and bucking so that's why I bailed. But luckily I said a little prayer while in mid air with one of my feet still stuck in the stirrup, (Ya not good...) Anyway I managed to twist my foot out of the stirrup and fell on the ground clear of any rocks or sharp objects. So I didn't get hurt. That's really good. And I did get back on even though I was kinda scared to. but like every good cowgirl. I got back on and rode the rest of the ride. So all in all I guess you could say that it was a pretty god day because no one got hurt.

Other than that not much has been happening. I've been working more and more with the spring weather trying to come every now and then. But we've been getting busier and busier so that's really good. Posse starts drill practice tomorrow for the first time this year. We'll have to see if the snow and rain will go away long enough for us to have it... we'll see. Unlike today, which was all rain and snow and cold weather! Anyway, a week ago last Saturday Robert and I decided that we needed to comb out the horses manes and tails. So after I got home from work and Robert got back from riding we started attacking the tedious job. It took us quite a while but we finally got it done. Then after we got that all done I braided their manes and tails to make them longer and thicker (Hopefully anyway). So I took a few pictures of them, only I didn't think about taking them the same day. So I went back the next day or so and looked at my handy work and wouldn't you know it Sassy had already managed to get the braid out of her mane.

So here are some pictures of Sassy and her mane and tail

And here are some pics of Jordan. She doesn't like me to be behind her very much. And Sassy doesn't like me to look at anything other than her. So I couldn't get a good picture of her tail. i kinda did it funny too, because I didn't want to stand right behind her to braid her tail so I stood off to the side and that made it all crooked. It looks kinda funny but oh well. It works!

Ok, so it's only been a month or so since I posted last, but not a whole lot has been happening. but one of the fun things that we did was last week. We kinda helped put together a party for a late St. Patty's day celebration. It was tons of fun! We had about 15 couples that came and partied with us.

It was a karaoke party so there was lots of singing mostly good but also some that was kinda iffy but so stinkin hilarious that it made the night super fun!

This is the Posse house all decorated before the party.

This is Robert rockin out singing Third Rock From the Sun.

Ok so the guy on the right is a regular at these parties. He sings Busta Move. It's awesome he knows it all pretty muvh and doen't really need the words. But he usually gets a person to help him out with this song to 'busta move'. This time it was Jeremy. One of my friends husbands. It was so funny because he doesn't usually sing or dance. But that night he was a dancing machine! He busted out moves that his wife said she had never seen! It was lots of fun.

This is a picture of all the ladies that were there singing Eye of the Tiger. and for some reason I felt the urge to belt out the chorus and they thought that I needed to be heard better... We found a trailer! It's really nice. Everything hasn't been finalized yet but it's going to be soon!! We're both really excited! I'll have to post some pictures as soon as we get it! It's really cool because it has a living quarters and that includes a bed, fridge, stove, air conditioner, cd player, radio, awning, and a bunch of other things too. It's really nice. We are hoping that getting this we will be able to go camping and stuff like that more and not have to sleep in a tent. So that's exciting!

It's official!

My diploma came in the mail the other day! That was pretty cool! And what made me post about it just now is that today we went and bought a frame for it. I'm excited to hang it up in my office at work!! Where it will be greatly admired by me and anyone else that comes into the room! Anyway, I guess it hasn't really been a big deal to me yet but now getting this means that I'm really done! I can really throw away all those old assignments and not worry about them coming back to haunt me! Yay!

In case you didn't know...

In case you don't know, A gooseneck trailer is a fifth wheel trailer that hooks onto a hitch in the bed of your truck. They are much more expensive than a traditional trailer that you hook onto a hitch on the bumper and they also have the area over the bed of the truck that you can either put your tack (Saddles, hats, clothes, bridles, all the other horse stuff) or sometimes you can fit a queen sized mattress on top of there to sleep on for long trips. (So Miss Hailey, that is what a gooseneck is. I'm not quite sure what you were imagining but I'm sure it was hysterical!)

So on Friday night Robert and I rented Madagascar 2. And for those of you who haven't seen this movie yet you are missing out!! It is hilarious! But we're not really sure what we want to do. We're trying to find a three or four horse trailer that's a goose neck with living quarters. But that is pretty difficult! Especially since we don't want to spend very much either.... Hmm anybody know anyone selling? Well, that's really all that's been going on. Oh we went snowmobiling today. It was tons of fun! I really LOVE going! Good thing Robert already had one so we didn't have to buy one after we got married. Yay! One less thing on the list of toys that Robert and I want before we get too old to use them. ;)

Oh hey -

I cut and colored my hair today! Ain't it cute? I cut off about 6 inches! It was crazy, I didn't think I had that much hair to cut off! But not a whole lot has happened. We've just been working like crazy and have been skiing a few times with family but not much other than that has been going on. We try to go riding as much as we can but sometimes that doesn't work out so well for me but at least the horses are getting a little exercise. Robert has working with both of them and says that they're coming along pretty well so that's fun. Tom has been working out at the greenhouse with us and it's pretty fun. We've gotten a lot done out there with him around to help us out.
Anyway, so that's about all. But I have a bunch of pictures that I wanted to post! So here they are:Here Sue: This is the frame that we put on the picture for mom and dad for Christmas. It looks really good. They're going to hang it in the front room over the couch. And the next one is a picture of dad's new toy. And Grandpa was able to take it for a spin while he was around too. He was having lots of fun.

This is a good picture of my husband being a goof-ball. I love it! He hardly ever does anything fun for me long enough to be able to take a picture so I'm glad that he let me take this. We were both laughing like crazy while he was doing it too!

This is me trying to play soccer on the Wii Fit. It's a lot harder than I thought that it would be, but it's a lot of fun too!!
So I took our Wii Fit over to my parents house and everyone got a turn to try but Emily didn't get a chance to play since she's only 2 and doesn't really understand the concept. So we decided to help her out a little bit and she got to have some fun in the process. This is me pulling my niece Tieler on a sled behind the four-wheeler. It was lots of fun. I haven't done fun stuf like that for a long time. But we all had a great time and no one got hurt so that made it even better. Unfortunately though there wasn't much snow in the field and my sister-in-law Jody was riding with Tieler one time and our dog was running next to them and the dog flipped up some poop into Jody's mouth. It was really funny, but really gross too. Guess you had to be there...

This is Kaydence. Robert gets really excited for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I told Robert that we couldn't get up till 6 at the earliest because he usually gets up at like 4 and wakes me up. I'm not good at that early in the morning. So we didn't even get home till 11 and I still had to wrap presents so we didn't go to bed till way late ans then Robert woke up again at 6:20. He said that waiting those extra couple mins were the longest ten mins of his life! I'm sure he was exagerating a little bit but we had fun. Santa brought us some pretty good loot too! We got Rock Band and a new camera and a few other fun things but those were our fun things. So al morning we were rocking out! It was lots of fun. Then we went to my parents and got some more loot and the best thing from that was Wii Fit. That is a fun little toy! I've been doing it for the last few days and I can already feel my sides burning. It's lots of fun. I'm still getting the hang of my new camera so I'll definately be posting some pictures in the next few days. But everything here has been great. I got my real Christmas wish - SNOW! And lots of it! Well I really just wanted a bunch at my house so that I can make a snowman again, not necessarily that it dump all across the U.S. and cause lots of problems but hey the more we get in the mountains the better the skiing and snowmobiling!

It's over!!

Well, it's official. I am now an alumni of Utah State University! It was pretty cool. I can't believe that I'm done. It hasn't really hit me yet that it's all over. However I am really glad that I don't have to drive through the canyon and the snow and all that fun stuff.
The drive up to Logan was kinda scary. It began snowing really early in the morning and didn't stop until after the ceremony was all over. It was really cool because it wasn't a very long graduation since it was a fall/winter graduation. So it was only an hour and a half rather than like 4 hours so that was good. But it was really fun because Robert, my parents, my in-laws and my niece Tieler and the foreign exchange student (Myla) that is staying with my in-laws all braved the storm and came up to watch me graduate. It really really cool. However the sad part is that my mother-in-law accidently deleted all the pictures on her camera, including my graduation pictures. She was the only one that managed to remember to bring a camera. But luckily we had to buy the cap and gown and all the fun stuff so I can re-create almost everything. So once I do that I'll post some pictures.
And, now that I'm all done with school I'll have much more time to take pictures of my house, my horses and all the other fun stuff that I've been talking about.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Almost over!!!

Graduation is on Friday!!!! I graduate from Utah State University. I am getting really excited/stressed for the big day. I am stressed because I have a big paper that's due friday that I haven't started on, Monday I have two finals, and I have to finish taking the quizzes and final for my online class all before graduation. But that also donesn't include all the time spent on Christmas festivities with family, friends and Posse celebrations that Robert and I are in charge of. But it will all be worth it to be able to walk across the stage and get a little paper signifying that I have fulfilled all the requirements that were needed to pass the classes that the college demands that I take, whether they are imperative to my degree or not. I guess it helps to make us more well rounded students right? I thought that was what all the other classes I took through high school were for. Anyway, I am really excited to get on with working for the rest of my life! Isn't that exciting! To be able to say that I am done with school? I think it is. And no, I am not going to get a masters degree. Good for you to all who did/are doing that. School just isn't the most thrilling thing to do for me. Anyway, I will be recieveing a Bachelor's in Horticulture with a Minor in Business.

That's really all that's new from us for now. Robert is working enough to keep him busy for pretty much all day. And I am going to school, doing homework, doing Mary Kay stuff and trying to work in between all of that.

Empty Nesters

Well, it's official. Tom's (But to all of his friends it's Thomas. Weird huh?) now a married man. It was a happy/sad day. I think that my dad and I were to only ones that were crying. But then again for my dad it's his only son and it's also his last child. Which means that mom and dad are now definately empty nesters. But for me it was sad beause Tom is my little brother. This means that he is all grown up now and that means that I am too. It's the beginning of a new life for them. It's really exciting and I'm really happy for him. the ceremony was very beautiful. Carter and Adam, my sister's boys, were the ring bearer's and they were adorable! I'll have to get some pictures of them. But everything went well and they had many people come to wish them well. Ashley asked me to do her makeup for the day. That was interesting. I've just started to do my Mary Kay business so I was a little nervous. But it turned out beautiful. Anyway, good times ahead right? Now we're all married I guess we are all grown ups.

Two days and counting...

So it's been a while, so much as been going on. There is only a month left till I graduate from college. I am getting SO excited!! I can't even describe it! Then on top of all this Tom is getting married in only TWO DAYS!!! It's weird to think that my little brother is going to be married. But I guess that means that we're all growing up.
Since Tom wedding is coming up that also means that there are lots of relatives in town. The one that I was most excited for was my sister Susan and her family. It's been really fun to get phone calls from my nephews asking about when they get to come and ride horses and and hang out with Cowboy Robert.

Well, I guess i'll definately have to write and post some pictures of the newlyweds.

Cold days make you think...

Ya know you never really realize how important friends are to you until they aren't around anymore. It's kinda a sad realization that has been sneaking up on me recently. All this cold weather makes me think about things a lot more. And I realized that most of the friends that I did things with like 3 or 4 months ago haven't really been around since then. And it seems like when we do things together that time period has been getting much, much bigger. It's really kinda depressing what a cold, blustry day will make you think of. But then I have to remember, Friends may come and go, but your family is always there. And ya know, that saying is so true! Thinking back to years ago in high school, the only thing that mattered to me was my boyfriend and my friends. I could have cared less what my family was doing. Then I got to college, where friends are a good thing to have if your living away from home. But you start to realize that family is a pretty good thing. Because eventually your friends from college get married and then they join the married club and then you don't see them anymore. But then when you get married and find fun married friends then everything is back to normal. Family in this time of life is also like your friends. You begin to start thinking "Hmm, I wonder what my parents are doing tonight?" But now, I guess I'm in that stage where all of my friends have kids and are now in the 'young family' circle so I really don't see them anymore. It's really sad to see this day come and hopefully sometime I will be in the same circle as they in the future and we will be able to get together again. However, I am truly happy that I have been able to hang out with my parents, my sister and her family, my little brother and his fiance, and my greatest friend of all - my hubby. It's always a good day when I get to stay home and play the wii with him and kick his but in sports! ;)

New addition

Hey all! So here's the newest additional to our gang. Robert and I just bought another horse to add to our group. I forgot to download the picture of her but I'll get one up soon. She's really really tall. For those who know heights of horses, she's 16.1 hands high. That's taller than Robert's horse Red and much taller than our other horse Sassy. She's about 4 years old and is a Blue Roan. Her name is Jordan for right now but we might change it to Blue Belle or something like that.

Things have been going pretty well for us. Robert has been staying busy between installing satellites and cleaning carpets. I have also been staying pretty busy with my last semester of school and also working when I can. Other than that not much has changed for us.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Well, it's been awhile and a ton of things have happened since I last blogged. But the most recent happened yesterday. It was our anniversary. Two years ago yesterday Robert and I got married. It has been an awesome ride since the day I said yes! I've done so many things and been to some places I've never been before. I love my fabuloous husband even more now than I did two years ago! Happy anniversary cowboy! I love you!

One of the other fun things we got to do this summer besides riding horses and boating, was being able to go to Seattle to see my sister and her family and to be able to see where Robert served his mission. It was so much fun to be able to see Sue and Charlie and thier kids. The thing that sparked this trip was Susan having her cute little baby girl Brianna Marie. She looks just like the family! So we went up there to go to the baby blessing and to stay and hang out with a few of the families that Robert used to hang out with a lot. It was lots of fun and we got to see lots of green, green grass and tree. I know you're thinking we have all of that here Bonnie. But these trees and the grass there is really green. It's cool. So that was a fun little trip that we were able to go on this summer. Anyway, I have to go now, Robert just got home and is getting ready to go boating so I guess that's my cue to get off and get ready too.

Making History

Ok, so I know it's been almost a month since I last posted but things have been especially crazy since then. So the rodeo went ok. I kinda had a hard time with my horse through the whole night but I made it through. The only bad thing is that I had gone boating the day or two before and had hurt my back so riding hurt my back even more. But I got a lot of pain relievers and that helped a lot. The next night went better. I worked out most of the issues with the horse and did fairly well through the whole thing. However at the end I was struggling a little with my back and keeping my feet in the stirrups, so at the end I finally got my foot back into the stirrup and began to exit out the arena. Well, unfortunately I made a dumb mistake by not checking my cinch before we went in and Flash (the horse I was riding) sucked in his gut a bunch so my saddle worked pretty loose and slide off with me along with it. I almost made it out of the arena before I fell off but, I did fall off. So that Sucked! But luckily I landed on my butt then fell on my back so I didn't re-injure my back but I sure was hurting to move. I have been popping so many pills to try and get my back rested up to be able to ride again that one would think that I was a druggie! I sure felt like one.
Well luckily my back has been feeling better enough to ride, but there also have been issues with the horses and so I haven't been able to ride in the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo at all but I might be able to ride in the State Fair in a month and a half or so. So I'll keep you posted!

Nerves

Oh my goodnes!! So on Friday is the first performance for us for Posse! I'm so nervous! It's scary to think about sometimes! Cause ya know the whole riding with guys, in front of thousands of people, making hisory and posibbly making a fool of myself! Anyway, so if you couldn't tell I am way nervous. Just thinking about it makes me shake! But I am way excited though. It should be pretty god as long as I keep my feet in the stirrups of the saddle and my butt on the seat. I'm trying to get someone to come and take a video of us riding so those of you who are far away can see what I'm up to.

When i tell Robert that I am nervous he says "Well, don't be!" And somehow that just isn't very comforting! I'm not sure why... Oh I know! Cause that doesn't help! No, really he has been really good to put up with me riding by him and helping me figure out what to do to make my riding look more smooth and in sync with everyon else. We've been going riding almost every Sunday afternoon to practice and sometimes in the evenings during the week. You'd be surprised at how much I've improved in just the month or so that I've really been riding with these guys! It surprises me sometimes to think about it. I'll let you know how things go! Wish me luck!!!

Update

So just to update you on my foot issue - I'm doing much better. I didn't go in and get a shot, I'm a baby what more can I say. Anyway, So I got some stuff from the doctor that is supposed to be so freakin amazing that she said that it can cure just about anything. So I figured what the heck and have been putting it on and being really careful about what I do. And what do you know, it's getting better and it doesn't hurt so much anymore either! It also might have to do with the fact that I've been taking a bunch of pain killers and keep putting that stuff on it and it's really been helping a ton. Yesterday I even went to practice and rode the whole time even though my foot kinda hurt. But I made it through and Robert said that I am doing much better each week that I ride. So that's a good thing among all this crappy nail in foot stuff!

OUCH!

Ok so yesterday I came home and brought with me some round-up and fertilizer to use around the house. Well I got home and was spraying the weeds around the dog kennel and in between the corral and I was trying to get some weeds that were farther behind the kennel and stepped down on some boards. Well I guess I wasn't paying much attention or it really blended in to the wood but I stepped on a nail! And holy crap!! It hurt like heck! The nail went into my flip flop (I know, I know - Why the heck was I spraying and wearing flip flops? well, that is a very good question that I don't really have an answer to.) and then into my foot right under my second toe on my left foot. And ya it really hurts! Robert had to come out and help me get to the house. He had to pull my flip flop off the nail but he said that like 1/4 to 3/8ths inch of the nail was probably in my foot. So it wasn't way deep but enough that it really hurts to walk on it. And it really sucks cause its in the right place that even shifting gears in my car is extremely painful! But I called the health department and they said that I needed to get a tetanus shot again cause the last time I had one was nine years ago and it's supposed to be good for ten, so I should be covered. We'll see how things go tomorrow, cause I really hate to get shots, so if it starts looking better I'm not going to go and get one... I know your all saying "Holy crap Bonnie! Don't be stupid! Go and get a shot!" but I really really hate getting shots. So I'm hoping I don't have to. Anyway I'll keep you posted on how things are going.

Posse

For those of you who don't know what the Posse is, it is actually called the Weber County Sheriff's Mounted Posse. It is a group of men who do a precission drill on horseback as a speciality act (or half time for those who don't go to rodeos) during different rodeos throughout the summer. It's really quite fun because they do the drill at a run. Even though the drill is about 5 mins long it is really quite interesting to watch them do it. If any of you are going to be around the Ogden or Salt Lake area this summer and want to come and watch then give me a call and we should be able to get you tickets in to the rodeo. But anyway, I'll try to post some pictures of me riding with the guys.

New Stuff

Well since the last time I updated not a whole lot has happened. Other than I was working like crazy, and going to school sometimes. Robert has been working during the morning and early afternoon and then comining home and working with Sassy. She's been learning a lot in the short amount of time that we've had her. She is really a smart horse.

But on to some interesting news. For the last month or so, Robert and I have been riding with the Posse in drill practice and getting ready for our shows that will start here in a few weeks. But the another interesting fact is that they have never allowed women to ride in the actual preformances. It's only ever been men since the Posse has been established. And that's been a very long time. So here's the awesome thing about this year... I'm going to be the first woman to ride in the preformances - EVER!! Cool huh! I'm way excited! I can't even tell you. It's crazy because I've really only been riding for a year or so. But Robert thinks that I am riding well enough to ride with them. And I've been filling in for the last four weeks or so and I'm getting the hang of it. It's really fun. I'm excited to be able to do it. But I'm almost scared at the same time because it's a rush to be in the arena and doing the drill with all the adrenaline pumping and the horses all excited and stuff. It's going to be crazy. Hopefully I'll do okay. I guess with lots of practice and confidence and stuff I'll do okay. Anyway, that's really all that I have for now. Later!

School's back in in session

So here's a little bit on what has been going on with us. I've been working like crazy out at the greenhouse spending more than 10 hours out there just trying to catch up on things out there. And I've also been done with school for about two weeks but this week summer semester started and I'm back at it again. and oh does it suck! But if I want graduate this fall like I've been planning then I need to take these classes. So I'll be done soon! I'm way excited! Robert has been working with th horse a lot more since work for him has been hit and miss the last few weeks so it's good that Sassy is getting worked with. So hopefully I'll be on her riding around like a pro soon! And on Thursdays Robert has Posse practice and I've been meeting him after work and have been fillng in for the missing members for the night. I'm getting a lot better riding and soon I'll be running at full speed! Exciting huh?! I think so! It's kinda scary though at the same time. Anyway, That's all I've got for now! Later!

Holy Cow!

Oh my goodness has this week been busy! Today was the last day of the busiest week of the season for us out at the greenhouse. We had SOO many people out there today! It was insane! There were tons of holes in all the things that we had left! I was suprised to see everything fly out like it did. And to really put things in to perspective with how much stuff we sold this week not only from our retail customers but also for our wholesale customers, on wednesday we sent out 33 carts to our customers. And each cart holds 50 flats, so times that out and you pretty much get how much stuff left our greenhouses just about everyday this week. Crazy huh, so that's why I haven't posted for a little why, I've just been too darn tired. I think that I've already worked like 50 hours or better this week. Sad huh, but it's ok because there's only a few more weeks of all this busy stuff then it'll go back to normal hours. So that's good.

Oh and today, I was able to help Robert work with the horse. I got on the horse and rode her around while Robert made her run around and around and around. It was kinda fun but scary though cause when Robert would make her change directions that she was going, she would stop really quickly and I'd just about pop off. It was pretty exciting. Anyway, It's been a pretty exciting week for us around here.

Yay for blogging like crazy

Ya, I know. When I blog I really blog, but still! I had to catch you all up on what has been happening! Anyway, The real reason was that I was super bored that day and I had remembered to bring my camera home from work so ya, that's why all the blogging. But fun though huh? And all that stuff has happened within the last month or so. And ya, it all started when I started blogging so I figured why not do it all at once? Anyway, I'll save my some of my pictures for another time....

Ha ha just kidding!!

Here's some more pics for ya to feast on:

Here's my beautiful saddle that I bought a few months ago. Ain't it purty? (For those of you who don't get 'Hick' talk here's the translation into plain English: Isn't that pretty?Look at all the detail in the tooling in the leather! ha ha I'm funny huh?)

And now...(drum roll)... making her debut on the blogging scene....Miss...Sassy....Blue....Somesocks!!!

She's cute. She looks kinda little in this picture. But she is only two, so she's just taller than I am. So probably 5'10" tall. Maybe taller. But Robert has been working her a bit more and he thinks that I will be able to get on her and start working with her next week or so. Fun huh? Im kinda excited but nervous too. I'm hoping that she doesn't buck me off or something. I'll keep you posted though.

And here's our dog Izzy. She's a purebred chocolate lab. She'll be three this month or next. I can't remember for sure but it's somewhere close to now. But she's a really good dog. However she's not always as smart as she should be. Last fall she was playing around by the horses (and what I mean by playing around is really that she was playing under and between the horses feet) and she got stepped on and ended up breaking her back leg. Sad huh? To make matters worse, I think that this happened the weekend before the opening day of the duck hunt. And for those of you who know Robert, you KNOW that he loves to duck hunt. So this was a big deal for him. He had been working really hard with her to get her all ready to take out with him. So it was really sad. But we got it all fixed and she had to stay inside for about 3 months. And we all know that that is also a big no no. But we managed. And luckily this all happened before we did all of our remodeling.

But anyway, I think that's enough for this time. Until later!

Visit from Sue

So to tell how bad I am about getting pics up, my sister Susan and her family came through town on their way from moving from Indiana to Washington about two weeks or so ago. And her son Carter loves horses and cowboys. And of course who better to do cowboy stuff and see horses than to come see Uncle Robert and Aunt Bonnie. So they came out and we rode horses for a few hours. It was lots of fun and everyone had a good time. Carter rode with 'Cowboy Robert' the whole time and I got to take William with me for a little ride.
Then Charlie got on a rode, and I think that if Sue wasn't so pregnant at the time, she might have also gotten on. But you never know...

This is Pregnant Cowgirl Sue. Aint she cute!?!

Anyway, Robert is such a good uncle - he let Carter hold the reins and let him turn Red where he wanted him to go (with a little help from Robert, of course).

Towards the end of the 2 and 1/2 hours of riding, Carter decided that he wanted to try going faster so Robert nudged Red a little bit and they trotted around the arena a couple of times. And oh my goodness did Carter eat that up! It was really fun to see him talking and having fun with Robert.

William being just like his daddy. Cute huh?

So after we got done riding we went over to my house (which is only three houses down from this arena. Cool huh?) and had a barbeque. It was lots of fun and my dog sure did love being around the kids and being chased. Finally!!

So I've finally had some time to download some of our pictures. So here's some to update you on what's been happening with us:
This is a picture from when we went to Hawaii over Christmas and New Year. It was WAY cool by the way, just in case you were wondering. But this was taken at the Polynesian Cultural Center at the Luau they have there. And yes those are real Plumeria flowers and yes they smelled wonderful!

This is when we were on Kuai. We spent the majority of our time here. It was cool. This beach is usually a hot spot for visitors but at this time of year the tide is so strong and the waves are so huge that they close it off to swimmers. So instead of swimming on a overcast, windy day, we just walked down the beach. It was awesome! You can't really tell but we were about 50 feet from where the waves were breaking on the shore. And let me tell you what - those waves were at least 15 feet tall! No joke either! I'm probably even under estimating that too! It was cool!

We got the chance to go deep sea fishing and this is what Robert got to reel in on our way out fishing. It was a small Marlin. And yeah, that fish is really as big as it looks. And that was SMALL!! The fish was about like 6 feet long. I've even got video of him reeling it in. I'll try and post that another time. That trip was really fun too because pretty much everyone but me and Mark got sea sick and threw up over the side of the boat. And it was me, Robert, Jim, Tammie, Mark and this other guy that was staying in our complex. but it was crazy!

This is what my family room looked like when we moved in. and yes it was really as ugly as it looks. Probably even worse that you think though. But anyway, it's gone now... he, he, he
This old barn looking wood is what was underneath the ugly paneling in our family room. Cool huh? I thought so and luckily for me, my husband and I think a lot alike. So we kept the wood paneling and changed our original plans for remodeling that room. Oh and it's also cool because it even has some lichen left that had grown on the wood from who knows when. It's awesome!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bandrarmstrong.blogspot.com/2008/04/pictures-finally.html' title='Pictures!! Today was the first real day for us at the greenhouse. Today we began selling to the public for the first busy Saturday before Mother's Day. And it will continue to get busy up until we start running out of things to sell to people. It's crazy. Today I helped a steady stream of people all morning long. It was crazy! And it's fun too because a lot of the people that come out are people that have come out many times before. And it never fails for me to hear people say "Oh my gosh! I've lived just down the street from here for 20 years and I've never known that you were here until my friend told me about it!" It's funny. People don't really notice the things that they are surrounded by until someone else points it out to them. It's fun though. Retail sales keep me running around all day long, and shoot, with all this running arounf keeping tabs on all the people in all 30 some odd greenhouses, I'd be skinny as a stick by the end of the season! We'll see though.

It's also begun for Robert too because Posse just started with their weekly drill practice this last thursday and then this morning they went on their spring ride up North Ogden Divide. I wish that I could have gone because that is a really pretty ride. But of course, I had to work. But it's ok. This last week has started the endless running around from event to event. It'll be so much fun with all the things that the posse is going to be involved in this year. They are doing a stage coach robbery this year in conjunction with the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. I'm excited.

Busy season, well it's supposed to be anyway...

So it's been forever since I last did a blog. So here's what's been going on. I have been running around like crazy trying to keep up with everything that is going on at the greenhouse. We've really been getting busy this last week. But all this stupid weather is putting a cramp in our selling. But hopefully this weather will break and then we'll start selling like crazy! That would be AWESOME!!! Anyway, pray for really good weather for me so that I can get rid of all these plants! Robert's been doing a few carpet cleanings and satellite installations. But he's also been working a lot with Sass (aka Sassy Blue Somesocks, my horse) She's getting pretty good at doing what he wants her to do. He says that I need to be ready to get on her in a week or two. Scary! Hopefully she won't throw me off! That would suck. Anyway, We just found out that she could possibly have some Roan genes in her. That would be was cool cause I really want to get a blue roan. Those horses are georgeous! For those of you who don't know what they are, it's a black horse that has a blue sheen to it. It's neat lookin. Since I last blogged, my sister Susan and her family came through and stayed for a few days with my parents and were able to come riding with me and Robert last Sunday. It was so much fun. We rode for about 2 1/2 hours. And Carter rode with Robert the whole time! It was really fun for Robert. We also got Will on and he rode around with me for a little bit and then was done. Charlie also got a chance to ride around for a bit and Sue didn't get on because she's pregnant with their third child (She's having a girl. YAY!!) I will hopefully get some time to post all my pictures this weekend now that finals are OVER!!! YAY!

Yesterday Robert went out and worked with Sassy, my new 2 yr old gray mare. He decided that she needed to be worked a bit so he worked with her on running circles in the corrall. It took her a little while to figure out that she was supposed to run around the right way and when Robert wanted her to but she eventually figured that out. She's starting to shed her winter coat and she's looking a lot lighter gray than she did when we got her. Well, at least her back end is getting lighter, her front end is still really dark. Robert is glad that she's dark and not light. But I'm glad that she's light not dark. So we'll see if she's a mix or is she decides that she wants to be one shade or the other. I'll try to get some pictures posted of her soon. But for now use your imagination. She has white on her front two feet and on one of her back feet. A blaze down her face, a very long tail and thick mane. She's cute. I like her. She's also starting to recognize my car and that I'm in the car. When I get ready to leave for work in the morning she comes over to the fence and whinnies at me to come over and give her a scratch on the head. It's fun. I can only imagine that she's kinda like a kid, but she doesn't talk and she doesn't have to go every where with me. Ok so it's not really like having a kid, but I love her just the same. It's the closest that I can get to one for now though.

Ouch!

Today was the day that I have trying to forget about for the last month. Today went to the dentist to get some work done on my teeth. I had to get three fillings on the right side of my mouth. That's not too bad, but to make it worse than I already felt that it was going to be. Eveything started off normal. I sat down and was waiting patiently for the dentist to come in and get started. So I sat there for about twenty minutes just waiting. It was incredibly boring. Anyway, so he came in and numbed the right side of my mouth and went and did his thing then came back and started working away. He started on the top two teeth and then began on my bottom tooth. (Before he started he promised me that I wouldn't feel a thing, just a little pressure and virations.) So he gets going on the bottom and I start feeling pain, not much but just enough to kinda make my stomach hurt. Then he keeps going and he got a little closer and it hurt and it hurt bad!! So I flinched and put my hand in the air. And he goes "You can feel that!" and I thinking DUH! it's not an April fool's joke or anything! So he numbed me up again and continued on. He got done about 30 mins. later but my mouth was numb on the bottom right side for about 4 hours! It was crazy! So it was over without too much trouble but those kinds of visits aren't fun. Too bad I'm not done with him for a while... I have to go back in on the 29th to get some work done on the other side too. I'm not excited... Can you blame me?

New beginnings

Today while sitting around at home with Robert and doing my homework for one of my classes this week, it hit me. I'm almost done with school! I graduate this fall with my degree in horticulture with a business minor. It's crazy to think that after this fall, I won't need to go to school anymore to complete my degree! I can go to work and not have to worry about what assignment is due or if I have a test that week. It's wonderful yet absolutely hard to believe! But this means that now I can focus on the greenhouse and begin to take on more responsibilty there. With this new step in my life of no more school, I can also start looking forward to beginning my family, whether it is in the near future or a few years ahead... I don't know. But I do know that it will happen. and that makes me really happy!!

Hey all

I figured that I better start a blog so that everyone can see what's going on with me. Because it feels like a ton has happened. So let me just give you a quick update:

Robert and I have now been married for 1 year and 7 months. It's crazy! It feels like it's been longer than that. But it's been a blast. We moved into a house just down the road from Robert's parents and only about 15 mins away from my parents, so we're still pretty close to both of our families. We've been doing pretty good in this house. It's a really cute older home and we've been doing or best to try and give it a face lift. I'll try to post some pictures of our renovations of our home.

Anyway, I'm also going to school and working like crazy out at the greenhouses. It's really picking up now! Everything is starting to grow and the greenhouses are quickly filling up. It's fun. I love to see all the new growth! Good thing I'll be doing this for life huh?

Oh and one other update... No, I'm not pregnant. I just thought that I should say that I am now a cowgirl! I have a horse, a saddle, boots, two cowboy hats (a black and straw hat) and yes, oh yes, the ever famed WRANGLERS!!! However I don't buy the typical Wranglers only the kind that are comfy and look like regular people jeans... ha ha that sounds funny... Anyway...

Well, I have to get going
